Sweet Terra, this picture is for you. Notice that Charlie's room is a mess. It did not just get that way today or yesterday or even the day before. It's been this way a while now and I am ignoring it. Notice that there are clothes on his train table and to be honest I am not sure whether they are clean or dirty. If you must know, he is sleeping on a bed without sheets tonight. I took them off to wash them and never got around to it. I have no immediate plans to clean this room and there are many other areas of our house that probably look just as bad if not worse. I know for a fact there is a chair in our living room covered in Fruit Loop "dust" from the box that Charlie dumped there. Yes, my children eat sugary cereal. Sometimes I don't even buy the reduced sugar kind. We spend lots of days in our jammies because going somewhere is too much work. There are no perfect mommies but I'm sure you are pretty close to it. Chin up, momma friend. You are doing a great job!

I Heart The Pioneer Woman (and my mommy)

I just noticed that my blog traffic was skyrocketing. I couldn't figure out what was going on and then I got some emails from people saying they found me through the Pioneer Woman (the greatest blog ever!) I checked it out and realized that most of the traffic was coming straight from her site and then I realized that my mom had a left a comment and linked my blog. So if you are visiting me from that fabulous blog there are a few things you should know:

1. I can't cook. I try...but it's sad.
2. My home decorating is all about Target. Seriously.
3. I don't home school and am quite certain that if I tried I would go crazy. I have much admiration for those who do and wish I could but my 2nd grader is already smarter than me so it's too late to try.
4. I just got my very first big girl camera and haven't a clue what to do with it. You will not find beautiful photography here.
5. I could in no way turn the story of how I met The Baker into an interesting 30+ chapter romance novel.

However, I can make pretty paper and little things with a big cute factor. I do have an obsession with bundt cakes. I drink enough Diet Dr. Pepper to keep the Fiesta Mart down the street in business. The Baker and I have made three fabby Little Darlings who keep life interesting and entertaining. If that's not enough to keep you reading than I don't know what is.

Thanks for stopping by Pioneer Woman fans!

Temporarily Closed

I'm behind. I've got orders piled up and I am desperately trying to catch up, I promise! I've never been in this situation before...in 5 years of PaperDoll I have never been so behind. I'm usually a night owl. I start working each night after the kids go to bed. I stay up late and get orders filled, emails answered, homework checked, permission slips filled out, etc. Last week the Baker was out of town all week. Charlie was on breathing treatments every few hours and pretty much decided he wasn't going to sleep while his daddy was away. By the time I got everyone asleep each night I was barely functioning and just didn't get a lot done. Plus I had an unusually high number of orders come in...crazy! The Baker came home this weekend and I was set to get up Monday and seriously get to work. Monday morning I woke and I was SICK! I drugged myself to make it through the day but this morning we braved the icey roads and went to the doctor. I'm on antibiotics now BUT with no school I'm not sure how much I will accomplish. My 2 and 5 year olds just find my work irresistible. It's almost mean to ask them not to "help" while I sit surrounded by mini candy bars and lollipops and M&M tubes and pretty ribbon and stickers! I'm sure school will be cancelled for a few days so I'm going to build a fort, turn on a movie and hope for the best. Wish me luck!!!

Picture Tag...I'm it!

I've been tagged by sweet Terra. I'm supposed to go to my 4th picture folder and pick the 4th picture and post it here for all to see. This was Christmas 2006 and as you can see Charlie is not happy about visiting Santa. I loved looking at this picture because this year he was all about Santa. He had no fear. He wanted to stay on his lap forever and talk for hours. He asked him if he could go for a ride in his sleigh, he pulled his whiskers, he gave him hugs and he wanted to go back for another visit. He's really grown up!

Time Out!

I've received an unusually high number of orders this week! January is usually a really slow month but this year it has been business as usual and then some. YEAH! However, I'm getting way behind. Life has gotten in the way this week and I have not been able to spend as much time in my office as usual SO I am going to cease taking orders for just a few days so I can get caught up. I won't be gone long...promise.
If you'd like to send an order anyway, just know that it will not be processed right away. I will add it to the end of the list but the time won't start ticking on it (7-10 days) until I have started accepting orders again.
If you have an order in already and you are in a time crunch please let me know so I can have it ready when you need it. Thanks for keeping me so busy!!!

Charlie, The Random Number Generator

Today I thought it would be fun to ask Charlie to pick a number for the winner. The conversation went like this:

Me: Charlie, can you pick a number between 1 & 57? (57 because 2 of you left comments after we had already picked)

Charlie: Ummmmm.....POOP!!

So, I guess that means he picked number 2! Congratulations Kim!!! Email me your design choice.

I started thinking about all the sweet comments that so many of you left and then I started thinking about how unfair it was since Charlie is only two and obviously doesn't have the number concept down yet SO I decided to pick ANOTHER WINNER!!! This time I let the random number generator do the work:
Congratulations Brooke!!! Email me!!

Dr. Charlie

Our poor Charlie has had a rough 2009. He started the year off with a stomach bug that lasted a full week. It was awful. Without too much detail, I will just say it was the worst case this household has ever seen! It was bad. He felt better for just a few days when a nasty virus hit him. It was kind of scary and although our Dr. didn't do the official test he feels like it was probably RSV. I didn't know you could get that at 2. I thought it was only for infants. Needless to say he has spent more time than he would like with the breathing machine over the past week or so. All the visits to the Dr. got him really interested in this dress up outfit that he got from Santa. He's been wearing it quite a bit lately. Of course, once Nora realized that he was down with dress up clothes she went to town. I won't show you "Princess Charlie" or "Cheerleader Charlie." The Baker would die...
