My love/hate relationship with SUMMER

Summer.  I love it.  I hate it.  I love having my sweet kids home.  I desperatley NEED an hour...or even a minute to myself.  I love the sunshine.  I hate the heat.  I love the pool.  I hate the constant mom freak in me that thinks my kids are drowning while they dive for pennies.  I love how my babies get tan (and one even turns blonde) in the summer.  I hate pool hair and sunburn fear.  I love the summer library program.  I hate the fines I pay because we ALWAYS check out more books than we can read in 2 weeks and I ALWAYS forget to renew them.  I love the IDEA of my kids going to camps.  I hate being a taxi driver and writing checks to camp.  I love sleeping late.  We NEVER get to sleep late because of all these pesky early risers that live at my house.  I love air conditioning.  My air conditioning is broken for the 2nd time this summer.  I LOVE my job.  I think I am insane if I really think I am going to get any work done this summer with three kids at home that like to be shuffled in the mom taxi, stay at the pool for hours and stand over me asking a million questions while I try to work.

I'm reevaluating.  Starting anew.  I've decided that I will need to allow 2 full weeks for orders during the summer months.  I'll try my best to get them done faster but I have to give myself 2 weeks in my head so I don't have a cloud of doom hanging over me 24/7.  I've also decided not to take on so many custom orders during the summer.  I'm going to do my best to keep constantly updating the website so there will be plenty of choices but I will need to cut back on doing new designs...just for the summer.  I'm also going to take a week or two to REALLY not do any orders at all.  I'm constantly saying I'm closed for a day or two here and there but I am always playing catch up on those days.  This time...I mean it.  Time off.  I'll let you know when it's going to be.
