Dollhouse Makeover: The Nursery

We've been so busy lately that we haven't had much time for our summer dollhouse makeover.  We've missed our little project so yesterday we took some time to decorate one of the tiniest rooms in the house.  It turned out so cute (the craft room is still my fav) but it really is soooo small that there are only a handful of pictures to show you.
As always, the "wallpaper" is scrapbook paper.
We already had the furniture but we did give the dresser...now a changing table..a coat of hot pink paint.
We covered a mini book from Hobby Lobby with a printout of "The Princess and the Pea" and we folded little pieces of Kleenex to look like diapers in the changing table.  We also folded little bits of fabric to look like blankets.
We printed out the "rug" and covered another tea light with trim to make a mini chandelier.
The frame was found in the $1 bin at Michaels.  The little cradle blanket is just a little scrap of minky fabric.  So cute...

We only have two rooms left!!  The rest of our summer is going to be so busy that I'm not sure how we'll find the time.  I've LOVED this little mommy daughter project and look forward to finishing up our little dream house.

Dollhouse Makeover: The Craft Room!

Every time we finish a room I say that it's my new favorite but this room will be hard to top for me.  It's for reals my favorite!!  We LOVE it!

THE CRAFT ROOM
This was definitely the most fun to decorate and Nora and I agree that we'd LOVE to have a craft room this cute!
Originally, Nora had picked out pink glittery "wallpaper" for this room but then decided that since the pink bathroom was right next door, she needed to pick new wallpaper.
She spotted this mini gold dot paper and fell in love and I was super excited because I'm loving the new gold trend lately.
We already had the desk and chair but while I spray painted the desk, Nora gave the chair a coat of gold paint.  The "chandelier" is another tea light with an adhesive trim hung with a little gold chain necklace.  We love the blingy chandy!!
We couldn't have a craft room without a few PaperDoll products...mini note cards and a personalized tray.
We already had the frame but added my NEW PAPERDOLL GIRL.  I love her!!
We added some more of the gold trim so the lamp would match the chandelier.
We had the table but Nora painted it and then covered it with this awesome paper that looks like old wood.  I want this table in my size!!
We already had the dress form.  We just tied some fabric around her.  So cute!  We made the "fabric bolts" by wrapping bits of fabric around cardboard.
The sewing machine , chalkboard (with Nora's cute handwritten CREATE)  and glass bottle came from Hobby Lobby.
The bunting is twine and scrapbook paper.  The houndstooth "rug" is printed paper.
I'm ready to shrink down and set up PaperDoll shop in this craft room!!
I'm seriously thinking about going this gold, aqua, coral direction for MY office.  LOVE it!

The Paper DollHouse - Master Bedroom Reveal

I think this room might be our favorite.  It was harder to take pictures of because of the steps that lead downstairs from this room but I think you will get the point...
Nora wanted a grey, yellow and aqua master bedroom.  We tend to love the same colors.  LOVE this girl!!  She can decorate my bedroom any day!
My favorite thing in this room is that Anthropologie inspired grey ruffled bedspread.  I had the real deal on my wish list forever so I'm glad that our dollhouse people can at least enjoy one in a mini variety.
I actually busted out the sewing machine for the yellow bedding.  I don't sew.  Don't look closely.
The little sign over the bed was a frame we already had that we spray painted and then just printed off a little saying to go inside.
The white frame is another $1 bin Michael's find with scrapbook paper inside.
We had all the furniture but we did recover the lamp with ribbon trim.  The book was from Hobby Lobby but we recovered it to look like one of our favorite books...Little Women
The little cup of coffee was from Hobby Lobby too but we've had it for years.
The chandelier is another battery operated tea light covered with ribbon and hung with a chain..an old necklace that I cut with wire cutters.
The area rug is just a printed design from my computer.
So there you have it....our favorite room so far.  I know after "wallpapering" this tiny room that I will NEVER hang actual wallpaper!!  It was killer trying to get all that chevron to match up!!

Next up if Nora has her way is the kitchen but I'm voting for the nursery which is the tiniest room in the house.  We'll see who wins that battle...

The Paper Dollhouse - Bathroom Makeover Reveal!

This dollhouse makeover is entirely too much fun!  Nora and I can't get enough and the boys of the house are a little tired of dollhouse talk.  They better get used to it...we have 5 more rooms to go.  6 if you count the stairs and we are counting the stairs!!

The bathroom is a tiny little room and didn't take long to renovate but we are both super happy with the way it turned out.
 We "wallpapered" with scrapbook paper.
The chandelier in this room works too!  It's another battery operated tea light with sparkly ribbon and a little bit of a chain for hanging.
The bath mats and the towels were cut from an old fuzzy sock of Nora's that had lost its mate.  The "towel bar" is a chain link.  We have really loved trying to figure out what every day objects we could use for our little house.
We already had the furniture but gave the step stool a spray paint makeover.  Oh how we love spray paint!

The bath fizzies are actually heart shaped sprinkles in a mini jar.
I can't stand it.  Mini things are so adorable.

Nora is already dreaming up the NEXT house!!  She has her eye on an even bigger dollhouse with more rooms to decorate.  Nathan has suggested that she sell this one to pay for the new one.  We'll see how she feels about that when this one is all fabulous.  It would be hard to part with it...but a new project would be fun!!

Next up is the bedroom.  Stay tuned!

The Paper Dollhouse...Living Room Reveal

I can't begin to describe how much fun Nora and I have had with the dollhouse makeover!  It's been such a fun mommy-dot experience.  I hope she remembers this forever!  I will!  It's been so fun to see her personality come out with the colors she chose and we've had a blast trying to find little objects that we could use to make it look "just right."  We spent hours yesterday working on the living room.  It turned out so cute and she's already begging to move onto the next room.
 Here's the BIG REVEAL!

We changed the wallpaper, "reupholstered" the furniture, printed some new rugs and repainted some pieces but we really didn't buy much at all.
We found the yellow frame in the $1 bin at Michaels.  The "throw" blanket is a strip of fabric from Nora's sewing basket.  The "tile" in the fireplace, the "wallpaper" and the polka dot "fabric" on the furniture are all scrapbook paper.
The puppy is a squinkie.  The tea set is one we've had for a long time and  Nora made the pillow from ribbon.
Look closely at the "chandelier!"  It works!!  It's a battery operated tea light wrapped in pretty trim.

The "side table" is a cork Nathan and I had saved years ago because it had her name on it.
We put new pictures in the frames...scrapbook paper.
We bought mini magazines at Hobby Lobby and recovered this one with an image of an HGTV mag that we found online.
I think our beloved Lalaloopsy will be very happy in her new digs.
I'd love to move right in myself!
