My baby girl will be seven tomorrow! Oh, how I love birthdays!! This girl has been talking about turning seven for months and months!! I want her day to be picture perfect. However, I know that I've lost it. I am fully aware that I have gone over the top. When you find yourself "slipcovering" tacky party horns at 2 am, you must come to terms with the fact that you have a problem. I know she probably won't notice that everything has a label on it and that all items are perfectly color coordinated but maybe some day she will remember fondly that her mommy went over the top crazy insane when planning birthday parties for her. Way too soon she will not want a cutesy ice cream sunday birthday party so for now I am going to enjoy it.

ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY understand about going over the top. My daughter, Charlotte's, first birthday is Saturday and I've been doing so much to get everything to match and coordinate. Charlotte will, even less than Nora, not know the difference in anything that I do but I've realized that doing things like this is my love language and one way that I feel like I can tell her how much I love her. I hope one day she'll get that. And I'm sure Nora will know the same!

Sweet Missy Nora. I was so excited the day you were born. My first granddaughter! You are sweet, cute, talented, smart, and I love looking at you because it takes me back many years to when Mommy was seven. She looked just like you do now.
