Our vacuum cleaner died. It was ancient and we need a new one quick. Three kids...two dogs...it has to be a serious vacuum. Any suggestions??
UPDATE: Thank you so much for all the comments and emails!! You guys know your vacuums!! I went with consumer reports and we purchased the Kenmore on Thursday. UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE! Love it...I'm sad to say my carpets were dirty and that inteliclean thing is crazy cool!
Ohhhhhhhh, I bought a Simplicity Synchrony at our local vacuum store about 2 years ago.....and never would I have thought that I could get excited over a purchase like this, a $600 plus purchase nonetheless!!! But after Rick got his blood pressure down and all was good in the marital homefront from such an extravagant purchase on my part, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Highly recommend!
ReplyDeleteI love my Dyson, it is lovely! It pulls up all that nasty dirt and grime! It is expensive but it is well worth it in the long run! I bought a DC7 at Bed Bath & Beyond with my 20% coupon. I also price shopped other stores and BB&B matches whoever has them on sale. I also had a DC14 and its just about the same as the DC7, but the DC7 is cheaper. Hope this helps! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to get a Dyson, but it was too pricey. I did a little web research and I got a Bissell Hepa Filter...it had "PET HAIR MAGNET" written all over the box. It has been great (we've had it for about 2 months). It is bagless and I CAN"T BELIEVE WHAT IT SUCKS OUT OF MY CARPET. It was about $250 at Target (the new one over across the river). They had a good selection of Bissells from high $200s to mid $100s. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my Dyson! It's worth the money!!
ReplyDeleteI have a Dyson and it is AWESOME!! (mine is the dc14 animal - and it PURPLE!) I bought it not because we have animals, but because of the attachments it came with).
ReplyDeleteDYSON with the BALL. Nuf' said! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a Dyson too...wish I had the new one with the ball, that would be even better! Best vacuum ever....
ReplyDeleteI recently bought a new one. Didn't have the $$ for a Dyson but my frizee carpet needed some major help. Surprisingly, the wide path Hoover only costs $60 and does amazingly well. I hated cleaning the bagless vacuum I used to have. This one has bags and I like it much better. I'm sure the pricey ones are great but if you need to save a few then there are some really great options out there.
ReplyDeleteI love my Sears Kenmore. Check them out at the store. Good price too. I got mine a year ago and it was ranked higher than Dysons in Consumer Reports.
ReplyDeleteI have a Kenmore from Sears, like Nannmers. It is rated higher than the Dyson on Consumer Reports and it is Awesome! Mine has a light on it called "Inteliclean" and it tells you when you've vacuumed enough for your carpet to be clean. Plus, it is from Sears, so if it ever breaks, we can take it back there to be fixed!
